Japanese Cotton Crew T-shirt Kuro Mame
Samurai Jeans’ SJST-SC01 brings the brand’s cotton and denim knowledge into a heavyweight crew-neck T-shirt. This Kuro Mame version takes its color from black soybeans associated with the Sasayama area where Samurai grows its cotton. The result is a distinctive, naturally dyed shade on a fabric with a pronounced, uneven surface. At 16oz, the shirt has enough substance to stand alone while keeping the familiar ease of a plain crew tee.
The Japanese cotton fabric uses an uneven #10 yarn spun in the same way as Samurai’s 17oz Zero denim yarn. The garment is dyed with juice from local black soybeans, giving the color its own character rather than the flat appearance of a standard black tee. Rib trim made from the same yarn and carefully finished seams complete the construction. Made in Japan from 100% cotton, it pairs naturally with denim or work trousers and brings texture to a simple outfit.
