Parka, Liner, M-1951 Olive
The Real McCoy's Parka, Liner, M-1951 in Olive recreates the early liner made for the M-1951 parka shell. Built as a removable layer, it combines a twisted wool pile exterior with nylon ripstop lining. The pile has the flatter, less raised character of the first issue, giving the garment a distinct texture and warmth without the bulk of a full coat. The hoodless cut keeps the liner simple to attach and remove.
It is designed to fit the Parka-Shell, M-1951 (MJ22003), and The Real McCoy's supplies buttons so the liner can be worn separately as an outer layer. Cotton sewing thread follows the construction throughout. Wear it under the matching shell when you need an insulating layer, or on its own when you want the pile fabric on show. The combination of wool and nylon connects the design to the postwar field parka system while making it useful in a present-day wardrobe. Do not wash this garment; washing can cause the fabric to fray.
